I'm just replacing the hard drive of my iMac seconds. First, the power shorted and melted the screen. It 'been 18 months so that Apple said it would repair or replacement. The present one is 375 days ago to buy - 10 day warranty - and the hard drive just deceased. Once again, Apple says that it will not be for nothing. Can I buy a new hard drive. I have owned dozens of PCs for myself and my company and not hardware problems like this.

After more than 2 decades as a computer user of this wonderful piece of equipment is a revelation!
The only drawback is to learn a whole new way to manage data. Need more instruction manuals in paper form.
